Children's Wellbeing • Self-Trust • Connection

Helping kids grow up connected.

To their bodies, their feelings, their intuition and who they truly are.

I help children understand what they feel, trust what they notice and develop the confidence to use their voice — through emotional awareness, play, movement and curiosity.

The Philosophy

Don't dismiss.
Get curious.

Children notice more than we sometimes realise. They notice what happens in their bodies. They notice their emotions. They notice how people and places feel.

And sometimes they notice things they cannot easily explain.

We don't always need to have the answer. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can say is:

“Tell me more.”

The Authentic Kids Approach

Children don't need to be fixed.
They need to be understood.

The work begins with helping children develop awareness and trust in their own internal experience — what they feel, what they notice, and what they sense about themselves and the world around them.

Feel

Emotional Awareness

Helping children understand emotions, recognise body signals, communicate needs and develop emotional resilience.

Notice

Intuition & Self-Trust

Helping children become curious about their inner voice, instincts, imagination, sensitivity and the things they notice.

Sense

Energy & Connection

Age-appropriate exploration of how children experience themselves, other people and the environments around them, using grounding, movement, awareness and curiosity.

The goal isn't to tell children what to feel or what to believe. It's to help them trust themselves.

Who This Is For

Maybe you've noticed
something too.

Perhaps your child is incredibly sensitive. Maybe they feel everything deeply, struggle to say no, worry about other people's feelings or seem to notice things other children don't.

Perhaps their confidence has changed. Maybe their spark doesn't seem quite as bright. Or perhaps nothing is “wrong” at all — you simply want to protect the connection your child already has with themselves.

You don't need to arrive with all the answers.
We can get curious together.

About Steph

Hi, I'm Steph.

I'm Steph Ashyggton, a Children's Wellbeing Consultant and founder of Authentic Kids. My work brings together my professional background as a former Specialist Public Health Nurse, my experience as a home-educating mother of four boys, and my lifelong curiosity about intuition, sensitivity and the things we sometimes experience but cannot easily explain.

I believe children come into the world deeply connected — to their bodies, their feelings, their instincts, the people around them and, for some families, something greater.

My work isn't about telling children what to believe. It's about giving them the space to explore who they are.

“I don't want children to spend adulthood trying to recover their voice, intuition and sense of self. I want them never to lose those things in the first place.”

— Steph Ashyggton

For Enquiries

You've noticed something.
Let's get curious about it.

Whether you’re here because of your own child, you’re looking for support for the children you work with, or you’d like me to speak, share or start a conversation with your community, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for — tell me what you’ve noticed, what you’re curious about, and we’ll start there.

A Final Thought

Children already notice.

  • They notice what they feel.
  • They notice what their bodies tell them.
  • They notice when something doesn't feel right.
  • They notice beauty.
  • They notice people.
  • They notice the world around them.

Before we teach them to question themselves, let's teach them to trust themselves.

Helping children stay
connected to who they are.
